چکیده

The various association constants, bnm and Knm, of NaCl and NaClO4 with [12]crown-4, [15]crown-5, [18]crown-6, benzo[15]crown-5, benzo[12]crown-4, dibenzo[18]crown-6 and dinaphtho[18]crown-6 have been estimated in a mixture of dioxane/water (80/20) using a sodium ion selective electrode (ISE). The constants have been estimated using 1=ðKnm1⁄2Lo n1m21Þ5 ð1 2 nP 0Þn ð1 2 mP 0Þm=P 0; where P 0, the mole fraction of complexed Nain the presence of identical cation/ligand concentrations, is obtained for different aggregation – dissociation possibilities. The association constants of the complexes are reported and discussed in terms of the multiple composition due to strong dioxane/water binding. The binding mechanism is shown to depend on the free cation and counter ion that are formed by different ratio macrocycle –metal complexes in dioxane/water (80/20) solutions.

Solvent Effect on Protonation Constants of L-alanine and Alanine Methyl ester in Different Aqueous Solutions of 1,4-Dioxane

The protonation constants of alanine and alanine methyl ester were determined in different aqueous solutions of 1,4-dioxane containing (0-50% v/v), using a potentiometric method at 25o C and constant ionic strength 0.1 mol.L-1 (NaCl). The protonation constants were analyzed in terms of Kamlet, Abboud and Taft (KAT) parameters. The results show that the effect of β is higher in comparison with t...

Solvent Effects on Tautomeric and Microscopic Protonation Constants of Glycine in Different Aqueous Solutions of 1,4-Dioxane

The acid-base equilibria of glycine have been studied in different aqueous solutions of 1,4-dioxane(0-50 % by v/v) using potentiometric method. In this study, the macro and micro protonationconstants of the amino acid and its tautomeric constant have been determined at 25 °C and constantionic strength 0.1 mol dm-3 (NaCl). The protonation and the tautomeric constants of glycine indifferent binar...

N-Alkyl Ammonium Resorcinarene Chloride Receptors for Guest Binding in Aqueous Environment

Host systems with guest binding ability in water and/or biological fluids are a current challenge in supramolecular host–guest chemistry. Here we present the first syntheses of water-soluble N-ethanol ammonium resorcinarene chlorides (NARCls) with terminal hydroxyl groups at the upper rim. The NARCls possess deep cavities and are shown to bind a variety of guest molecules such as linear and cyc...

Selective recognition of tetrahedral dianions by a hexaaza cryptand receptor.

A hexaamine cage was synthesised in good yield by a [2+3] Schiff-base condensation followed by sodium borohydride reduction to be used as a receptor for the selective binding of anionic species. The protonation constants of the receptor, as well as its association constants with Cl(-), I(-), NO(3)(-), AcO(-), ClO(4)(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), SO(4)(2-), SeO(4)(2-) and S(2)O(3)(2-) were determined by pot...
